In a large review of scientific studies it was concluded that there is no evidence to suggest that carbohydrate-rich diets are a cause of insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes.

There is more evidence that sulfonylurea drugs, a mainstay for glucose control in type 2 diabetes for decades, increase the risk of mortality from cardiac events.

Overweight people may have impaired blood flow that can increase their risk of heart disease. Partly to blame is an abundance of free radicals–naturally occurring compounds that damage cells and lead to disease.

What is the optimal timing of injection of once-daily insulin glargine in people with Type 1 diabetes using insulin lispro at mealtimes?

Aspirin use among US adults rose about 20% from 1999 to 2003, and the Healthy People 2010 objective of having at least 30% of diabetics use this drug on a regular basis has been met.

Diabetics appear less likely to receive guideline-adherent care for non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndromes (ACS), than patients without the condition.

Contrary to what has been shown in otherwise healthy diabetics, elevated HbA1c levels, an indicator of poor glycemic control, are associated with improved survival among diabetics with advanced systolic heart failure, new research shows.

Scientists have discovered a variant gene that leads to a sizable extra risk of Type 2 diabetes and is carried by more than a third of the American population.

People with high job stress over a protracted period of time have double the risk of developing the metabolic syndrome.

In certain patients with diabetes-related kidney disease, performing a transplant before the need for dialysis arises seems to be advantageous.
