General Electric is working on a calorie counting device that could make dieting easier. The device uses microwaves and scales to measure food. It’s placed over a plate and then shows how much energy is in any particular meal. The researchers commented, "If we have the weight of the food and the proportion that’s water and the proportion that’s fat, from that information, we can estimate calories." However, the product is still in the testing phase and there is a ways to go according to GE.
