Children who had an increase in body mass index before age 4 had a greater likelihood of developing metabolic syndrome at 12 years of age than their peers according to a new study. Researchers also found that boys who experienced an increase in BMI at younger ages were more likely to have high blood pressure by age 12. Published Dec 23, 2013 in Pediatrics
