Generic Glucose Test Strips 

The first generic test strips for the One Touch and Ultra glucose monitors may soon be available. Decision Diagnostics state on their website that the Shasta Genstrip® "will cost 50% less than the branded product without any sacrifice on quality." The Shasta is not yet approved by the FDA but according to some sources Walmart is planning to carry the strip which works with LifeScan meters.
