Fatty Liver and Diabetic Kidney Disease: Caused by the Same Mechanisms?

But is it also linked to an increased risk for diabetic kidney disease? This study (597-P) found a strong association between the two, leading researchers to conclude that the mechanisms for each of these diseases may be similar and include both abdominal obesity and low-grade inflammation.
