Tandem Initiates Voluntary Recall for Specific Lots of Pump Cartridges

Tandem Diabetes Care Inc. has initiated a voluntary recall for specific lots of its insulin pump cartridges, the company announced. Tandem found that certain cartridges for its t:slim insulin pump could be prone to leak though no customer complaints have been reported, Tandem said. However, a cartridge leak could potentially cause the device to deliver too much or too little insulin, which could seriously impact a patient’s health, the company said. Tandem has modified its cartridge manufacturing process to prevent this issue from occurring in the future. Tandem News Release
