After revascularization procedures, the risk for total mortality, cardiovascular mortality and myocardial infarction is highest among patients with low BMI, according to research. Similarly, CV mortality was lowest among overweight patients in the meta-analysis conducted by Abhishek Sharma, MD, of the Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, N.Y., and colleagues, who looked at percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) studies.
