Rosiglitazone: FDA Keeps It and the Europeans Yank It! The European Medicines Agency has recommended that rosiglitazone (Avandia) and all medications containing the drug be taken off the market. The FDA says rosiglitazone can stay, but requiring a risk evaluation and mitigation strategy (REMS) program with additional measures to ensure the safe use of the medicine.
