Nearly 24 million Americans have diabetes

Nearly 24 million Americans have diabetes and another 57 million have pre-diabetes and are at risk of developing the disease. In comparison, 11.4 million Americans have cancer and 1.05 million Americans have HIV. (2007 National Diabetes Fact Sheet, CDC)
