There is no doubt that the Coronavirus has had a gigantic effect on our lives over the past 13 months and will likely continue to for some time. However, some of the precautions we have taken because of the pandemic have had a positive effect on other health issues.
Flu cases are at an all time low, and even asthma symptoms have shown a decrease. These changes are associated with the use of masks and patients paying more attention to their health.
This even extends to diabetes. This week our LECOM intern, Laura Martinez López, has a very interesting feature on how COVID-19 worries have had a positive impact on some patients’ diabetes care.
