Over the past few years the use of CGMs has increased significantly. More and more providers, insurers and benefit managers have seen the value of their use. Where we only had individual readings and A1c to gauge overall management success, the use of CGMs has allowed “Time in Range” to become a measurement that is even more important in overall management. These devices have also made it possible for “smart pumps” to predict glucose trends and adjust insulin accordingly.

The Dexcom G6 has been the “Cadillac” of stand alone devices, and this week our intern Janet Falade, PharmD Candidate, South College School of Pharmacy, brings a study on the new G7 device, and why both prescribers and patients will want to use this new device.
