In a recent study, secure messaging was the most popular choice for diabetes patients in post education programs, followed by in-person and phone-based interventions. However, fewer patients in the secure messaging arm finished the intervention compared with the other group, researchers found. The complexity of secure messaging may have played a role in the poor contact rates among patients, one researcher noted. Data presented at the World Diabetes Congress Dec. 2013
