Letter from the Editor: We Bring You the Best of the ADA

Steve and Andrew came home with tons of new information from the recent ADA 71^st Scientific Sessions. We are going to be sharing the information with you for the next couple of weeks as we continue to review and evaluate the articles and studies.

There are articles on new classes of drugs as in Item #11, TAK-875 a Novel Agent in the Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes. Item #4, ACTID Results Emphasize Diet Alone Over Diet and Exercise, delivers the results of research on intensive dieting. Unbelievably, Item #2, Preventive Efforts in Type 2 Diabetes Are Cost Effective, proves that preventative care can actually be cost effective in diabetes care.
