We are often amazed when someone is diagnosed with T1DM when there is no family history. That is because the disease is about 15 times more common in siblings of a patient with diabetes than in the general population. In addition, siblings have an average risk of 6% of developing T1DM.

This week in our Clinical Text, we look at the myriad of testing and genetic research that is going on to try to identify genetic solutions.
