I keep hearing all these ads on the radio for teledoc visits. You can call them from home, you can go to your local pharmacy or grocery and be seen by a physician or nurse practitioner. No need to sit in a waiting room with a bunch of sick people while they sneeze and hack all over you, just FaceTime and the doctor is in. I can certainly understand this for simple things like colds and aches and pains, but is a televisit the best way to diagnose and prescribe? Time alone will tell on that question, but one thing is for sure: if you have a chronic disease like diabetes it can definitely improve care. This week our current intern, George McConnell from LECOM School of Pharmacy, has a new study on the value of televisits that lead to better care and less expense.

We can make a difference!
