We have seen that many of our diabetes patients also have hypertension and or elevated lipids and are often referred to as suffering from cardiometabolic syndrome. Over the past couple of months, Stan Schwartz, MD, FACP, has been educating us on the diagnosis and treatment of this syndrome. He finishes his presentation this week with “Therapies for Type 2,” and how all the medications can work together. If you do nothing else you will want to open up this Homerun Slides set and check out slide #13.
Our Disaster Averted points out how numbers can be very confusing and how half of 12 is not always 6. This week we start a new text for you, Exercise and Sport in Diabetes, 2nd Edition. For those of you who often have great things to say about our articles by Sheri Colberg, PhD, this new text will be a good reference.
