The first thing that gets blamed for obesity and the onset of diabetes is sugary drinks. Logic dictates that the calories from the drinks are responsible for this surge in obesity but are there more factors than just calories and why have we seen the surge in the use of these drinks over the years? Barry Popkin, PhD, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has graciously agreed to share his Homerun Slides from a recent presentation he did for the Global Dimensions of Sugary Beverages Conference.
