Thirty-six percent of Americans indulged in dessert at least twice a week in 2010 but now the number is over 40% according to a new report. The report also revealed that more Americans are eating desserts during morning and afternoon hours as snacks or post-meal treats. "Consumers aren’t holding off on dessert until after dinner. They’re reaching for easily accessible, hand-held and portable treats at just about any time of day," says the Technomic Executive Vice President Darren Tristano who did the research. USA Today
