As we look for unique gifts for people we care for, you can’t drive past a digital billboard or change the channel on your TV without seeing an advertisement to have something cosmetic done to your body. It could be getting rid of droopy eyelids, or freezing off the love handles, or a facial with dermabrasion to make you look young again.

This week our intern, Arjay Mendoza from the University of Colorado College of Pharmacy, has a great article review in our Laterpay feature, on the use of duodenal mucosal resurfacing (DMR) to improve liver fats, lower A1C, and possibly reverse the need for insulin in type 2 patients.
