It seems like every day we are learning more about the COVID-19 virus. Although many publications look at the problems with managing patients with comorbidities such as heart disease, diabetes, or asthma, they often do not share ideas on how to mitigate the effects of the virus and offer a plan for you to use with your patients.

This week Peter Jay Won, Pharm.D. Candidate, University of South Florida, shares what he has learned about managing diabetes patients in the ICU.

When you read through his presentation you will see how best to manage glucose tightly while minimizing contact with the patient, how to reduce variability with a mixture of insulins, and how patients who are on ventilators have a totally unique therapy for managing glucose.

We can make a difference!
