How many of our patients change their oil as soon as the change oil light comes on, or rotate and balance their tires when the maintenance schedule calls for it? Based on a few emails I sent out, almost everyone does. They feel that that preventative care can save them 1000’s of dollars later on. It would be nice if our patients felt the same way about their bodies and their rising weight and development of diabetes. I think part of the problem is that patients may think they know what preventative maintenance for diabetes is, but really they don’t.

This week our USF PharmD Candidate, Jasmine Dumontier-Hiott, has a great review of a large study on the benefits of prevention interventions and how you can help your patients, in our Laterpay feature.

We can make a difference!
