We keep seeing more evidence on the value of GLP-1 agonists and SGLT-2 inhibitors on protection and improvement in cardio and renal outcomes. This week when Steve and I looked at features from our interns to publish, we selected multiple articles that show how these classes of drugs are making a difference both for diabetes and the comorbidities associated with diabetes.
One of the features shared by Kornelia Ilias, Pharm.D. Candidate, Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, adds another class of drugs to the list, and fortunately for us the first in the class also has a GLP-1 agonist effect.
Check out Dr. Ilias’ Laterpay feature to learn what a GIP is, and which new medication has the dual effect.
