If nothing else has come out of the Corona crisis, there was a lot of conversation on the repurposing of older medications to try to reduce the effects or prevent COVID-19 infection. For a while there was some “exciting” research on the use of metformin to reduce the severity. However, like a lot of medications in the end it was not the panacea that the first comments would have led us to believe.
