Editor's Note
Have you ever heard the phrase “If I only had a dollar for every time….”? There is nowhere that this seems to be the comment more often than when the FDA adds a side effect and later there are enough challenges to get them to change it. My favorite one was the whole debacle with the TZD’s, and our good friend Dr. Steven Nissen.
It looks like history may repeat itself based on an article review by our intern Usif Darwish, PharmD Candidate, Florida A&M University, College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. It seems that there is a controversy brewing over the SGLT-2 inhibitors and increased fracture risk.
Read our intern’s article and then get ready for the fireworks.
