SGLT-2 Inhibitor and Metformin Combination Drug Approved in Europe

European regulators have approved Xigduo for type 2 diabetes in the first green light for a fixed dose combination of an SGLT2 inhibitor and metformin. The drug combines in a twice daily tablet dapagliflozin an SGLT2 inhibitor that reduces the reabsorption of excess glucose, and metformin. FDA News Release
