Editor’s Note, DCMS # 163: Psychological Issues in Diabetes

Have you ever had a day when your patients just drive you crazy? They haven’t had their labs done, they didn’t get their last prescription filled, or they’ve forgotten their log books. If you string enough of these patients together, you can end up feeling pretty depressed. This type of depression or sadness often occurs from time to time in all of us and the next day we wake up and everything is fine. However for many of our diabetes patients, depression is a real thing they live with every day. This week our Clinical Text from Joslin finishes up a chapter on Psychological Issues in the Treatment of Diabetes with a focus on depression and anxiety disorders.
