Research presented at the ADA Scientific Sessions showed the one-year drug discontinuation rate among type 2 diabetes patients was 89% in those taking a GLP-1 agonist, 82% in those who took a DPP-4 inhibitor and 84% in those treated with other diabetes drugs. The median time to treatment discontinuation was 90 days in the GLP-1 agonist cohort, 120 days for the DPP-4 inhibitor cohort, and 90 days for patients assigned to other antidiabetic agents.
