Reporting Medication Adherence Reduces A1c

Self-reports on medication adherence correlated with lower A1C levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Medication Event Monitoring System (MEMS) bottle caps were given to patients with clinically significant depression and A1c less than 7%. The researchers found that adherence self-reports correlated significantly with lower A1c.
