The use of GLP-1 analogs is up again this year as clinicians become more comfortable with the class of drugs and more patients are learning about the benefits of these analogs from their practitioners, friends, and websites and blogs on the internet. Many of those patients come to us under the impression that taking a GLP-1 analog can be the magic weight loss drug they are looking for.
There is often a lot of confusion on this subject so we have been working with Dr. Daniel Drucker, from the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto to give you the correct information with the research to back it up. Please be sure to read this week’s special feature article on GLP-1 and Appetite Suppression to be prepared to advise your patients correctly.
