When Should Your Patients Be Taking Their BP Meds?

A new study linked bedtime dosing of antihypertensive drugs to improved nighttime and 24-hour systolic blood pressure levels in type 2 diabetes patients with nocturnal hypertension. Data also showed bedtime dosing did not significantly affect daytime readings, morning surge or arterial stiffness in patients. The results suggest that bedtime dosing might be better than daytime dosing. Presented at the EASD meeting Sept. 2013 Abstract #47
