Special Insulin Edition #3: Insulin Therapy in Older Adults

I have spent the past couple of weeks preparing a CE webinar for the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination. This organization represents long-term care professionals who provide quality care for nursing home residents across the nation. They asked me to prepare a webinar on the current treatment regimens and how to manage hyper/hypoglycemia to enhance stable blood sugars and prevent instability. While I was working on this, I found myself looking at the newest joint guidelines from the American Geriatric Association and the American Diabetes Association on the care of elderly patients.

Since many of you reading this take care of seniors with diabetes, and know that many of them are on insulin by the time they get to your endocrinology practice I thought I would make the insulin part of the guidelines available to you
