Special GLP-1 Edition, March 2014

Mar 20, 2014

There is no doubt that all too many times in the past we have heard great news on non-injectable insulin drugs. First we had inhaled, which flopped and buccal which seems to be stuck in other countries except the U.S. Over the past 10 years we have had over 30 articles right here on Diabetes in Control touting the next great insulin pill or non-injectable delivery system.

As I was looking over some of these articles it made me think about the possibility of non-injectable GLP-1 agonists or enhancers and how research is coming along on that. I contacted Dr. Daniel J. Drucker at the University of Toronto, and he agreed to share some interesting things from his website and we have them for you in this month’s GLP-1 special edition.
