Sixty Percent of Americans Concerned About Diabetes but Only 30 Percent Take Action

Sixty Percent of Americans Concerned About Diabetes but Only 30 Percent Take Action: Most Americans are concerned about developing diabetes, but a recent study indicates that many of them have not taken the necessary steps to postpone or avoid the disease. The International Diabetes Center and pharmaceutical company Abbott found that 60 percent of Americans surveyed online have expressed concern about diabetes development, but only one-third of them take preventative measures and 29 percent spoke with their doctor. Most of those surveyed believe that obesity can lead to Type 2 diabetes, but nearly one-third said that balanced diet is not a key factor related to that. Another 62 percent think that age has little or no role in the likelihood of developing Type 2 diabetes. Wedbush Decision Metrics
