Oded Langer, MD, PhD, Q3: What Is the Best Test for Blood Glucose Levels in Diabetic Women?

Dr. Langer explains why HbA1c is not a good a test for pregnant women because of the natural changes in a pregnant woman’s blood cells as well as the limited time of the pregnancy (as compared to measuring HbA1c over longer periods of time in a non-pregnant person). He discusses the use of other tests and what he aims for in his practice.
