This week I got a new update from 23 and Me. They had some new data on the effects of gene mutations on major disease and when I looked up diabetes they let me know…based on a few large studies, it is estimated that 30-80% of the risk of developing type 2 diabetes may be explained by genetic factors.
This week we have a private interview with Lisa Letourneau, MPH, RD, LDN at the University of Chicago, Kovler Diabetes Center, as she discusses the latest research on diabetes and genetic therapy.
