DiabetesIQ

UCSF
Android and iOS

This app offers a series of quizzes that get patients thinking about topics such as alcohol intake, weight loss, and food choices.

Following the completion of each quiz, the user may request a link be sent to them via email, which would lead them to more information on the topic. The app also features simplistic diaries to log exercise, weight, blood pressure, and glucose readings, which do nothing more than save your entries (no graphs, calculations, etc.). Short presentations on topics such as keeping a food diary and physical activity are also available for viewing. A great app to kill time (for example while in the doctor's waiting room, or while waiting for your prescription).

Overall Impressions from Around the Web:

"Angry birds – Diabetes edition" -- iMedicalApps

Although iMedicalApps seemed to like it, many users had technical problems, and found the overall format frustrating. The information is there but is not very user-friendly.
