Lynne Raphael, RD, CDE, and Cathy Wielgus, RN, CDE, talk about their mission to get the word out on gestational diabetes mellitus, and the importance of detecting it early enough to both help mothers manage their diabetes and health, and ensure the delivery of healthy, normal-weight children. The only way to do this is through education, and they have been trying multiple approaches at all ages.
