Letter from the Editor, Issue #730:

May 23, 2014

Last month I worked with Bruce Biundo, RPh, FACA, and Jerry D. Meece, RPh, FACA, FAADE, CDM, CDE, to develop a CE program on testosterone for pharmacists. This CE, The Management of Androgen Deficiency: The Pharmacists’ Role in Providing Appropriate Patient Care, has had a large response due to the burgeoning growth of Low T clinics. This CE helps pharmacists understand the value of testosterone supplementation, when to use it, who should use it, and what side-effects to look for in patients.

There is no charge to review this and it would be a good read for everyone as more reasons to check levels and use supplementation come about. In fact, this week we have information from the recently completed AACE meeting about using testosterone supplementation to improve insulin sensitivity.

You might also want to start using the term "2 minutes" when you talk to your diabetes patients.

With a day packed full of education, motivational tools, one-on-one sessions, and workshops, the TCOYD health fair is a great way to get your patients to take better care of their health and themselves.
