There are some diabetes patients who push the limits on living a normal life, and even go beyond normal to the extreme. They push their bodies to achievements that even the best euglycemic patient can only dream of coming close to. One group of these diabetes athletes rides for Team NovoNordisk. These professional cyclists compete with their peers all over the world and get no time bonus or handicap for having type one diabetes.

We are going to be spending some time with them as they compete against the best in professional cycling in next week’s U.S. Pro Challange. These challengers include 5 teams who raced in the Tour de France. This week, we kick off our coverage with a short video from the team talking about their success in the Tour of Denmark.

The success of these riders is even more amazing when you look at the information in Item 7 that talks about increased fractures in type 1 patients.
