Diabetes increases the risk for conjunctivitis.

Answer: True

A study in Diabetes Care showed an association between diabetes and an increased risk for developing conjunctivitis and between diabetes status and antimicrobial prescription incidence. UK researchers followed a cohort of 987,024 adults with and without diabetes from 2010 to 2016 and found no correlation between glycemic control and any infection or between diabetes status and keratitis/keratoconjunctivitis, stye/chalazion, blepharitis, lacrimal gland infection, periorbital cellulitis or endophthalmitis.
