From the Editors Desk:
Dave Joffe, Editor in Chief

Last week I shared with you an experience I had with a newly diagnosed patient. Many of you sent me comments about the care the patient received. Now, for an update, I called the office on Monday and the nurse informed me “That’s the way we do it, we don’t want to overwhelm the patient. Thanks for helping her.” I asked if they had an educator on staff and she responded, “Why do you need to know you are only a pharmacist.” Needless to say I have an appointment to speak with the Endocrinologist next week.

Last week Dr. Richard Bernstein gave us his method of cardiovascular exercise that I tried and increased my calories burned by 45%.  I started on an epiliptical stepper at about 74 rpm and a heart rate of 144 max. After 5 days of using Dr. Bernstein’s method I was at about 70 rpm at an average 161 heart rate. My former calorie burn for 25 minutes was 328 while using his method my calorie burn was 585.  Learn more by clicking here:
