UM Study says Insulin for Type 1 Diabetes Prevention Doesn’t Work!

A seven-year study chaired by a University of Miami medical professor that gave insulin injections to children, teens and others at high risk of diabetes, hoping to delay or prevent the disease, ends in disappointment last week with publication of the conclusion that it didn't work.  The study, under Dr. Jay S. Skyler, director of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at UM, is described in last weeks edition of The New England Journal of Medicine.
