UM
Study says Insulin for Type 1 Diabetes Prevention Doesn’t Work!
A
seven-year study chaired by a University of Miami medical professor that
gave insulin injections to children, teens and others at high risk of
diabetes, hoping to delay or prevent the disease, ends in disappointment
last week with publication of the conclusion that it didn't work.
The study, under Dr. Jay S. Skyler, director of endocrinology,
diabetes and metabolism at UM, is described in last weeks edition of The
New England Journal of Medicine.
