All Accusure Insulin Syringes (Qualitest Pharmaceuticals) -- RECALL: Qualitest Pharmaceuticals and the FDA have notified healthcare professionals of a nationwide recall of Accusure Insulin Syringes. All syringes, regardless of lot number, are subject to this recall. The syringes may have needles which detach from the syringe. Consumers who have any Accusure insulin syringes should stop using them and contact Qualitest at 1-800-444-4011 for reimbursement. News Release
Newsflash:
The FDA has approved an expanded indication for BYETTA® (exenatide) injection. BYETTA is now approved for use as a stand-alone medication (monotherapy) along with diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with Type 2 diabetes. Previously, it was approved for use only in patients who were also taking other common diabetes medications and had not achieved adequate glycemic control.
New Product: Twynsta®
Twynsta, by Boehringer Ingelheim, is a new combination therapy of telmisartan and amlodipine and is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, alone or with other antihypertensive agents, and as initial therapy in patients who are likely to need multiple drugs to achieve their blood pressure goals.
