As we move into the ninth year that GLP-1 analogs have been available many of you have taken advantage of this class of medications for your patients. Every day more prescriptions are being filled and patients are learning the value of non-insulin injections for their diabetes. We have seen the shots decrease from 14 a week to 7 a week to once a week and it appears in the future one shot a month will be the norm. Most of us feel very comfortable with this class of drugs but there is a lot we still have to learn about GLP-1 and how it is produced in the body.
