I am willing to guess that if Pharma did not produce tools for patients, we would all have a harder time delivering information. When I look back at some of the handouts from the ’90s, it is amazing how much better the current ones are. There is much more focus on the disease than the drugs and companies that make them. In addition, we now find that genetic and cultural differences need to be considered to get the maximum success. One company that has taken advantage of this new use of motivational interviewing in their handouts and on their websites is Novo Nordisk. This week, Steve Freed has an interview with Blandine Lacroix and he takes her to task as to why these programs are better for the patient.
