Effect of Lifestyle Intervention in Type 2s

A meta-analysis of 16 studies found that lifestyle intervention in patients with type 2 diabetes significantly improved BMI, HbA1c, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure compared with standard care. The authors reviewed evidence that lifestyle interventions (nutrition therapy, physical activity, and education) compared with usual care/control groups improve risk factors (weight, HbA1c, and blood pressure) associated with cardiovascular (CVD) disease in persons with type 2 diabetes. — http://www.metabolismjournal.com/article/S0026-0495%2814%2900312-6/abstract
