Editor’s Note: New Homerun Slides on CVD

Over the past weeks we have shared some great slides on Advanced Glycation End-products, and there’s a lot linking these AGE’s to cardiovascular disease. Our publisher, Steve Freed, has been working with Stan Schwartz, MD, FACP, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, and this week we have a whole new series of slides on the reasons and benefits for an Aggressive Pathophysiologic Approach to Cardiometabolic Therapy for Type 2 Diabetes from Dr. Schwartz.

Too often our patients have problems with high glucose levels and, if we are not careful, serious problems can occur. This week our Disaster Averted points out how older, experienced patients may still be underdosing insulin, while this week’s Clinical Gem on helps us understand why adolescents and young adults often give up on their diabetes and end up with ketoacidosis.
