Editor’s Note: Misconceptions about Diabetes and Eye Disease, Correct Pump Settings and Case Study

This week I picked up my new glasses and was chatting with the optometrist about how many of his patients have diabetes. Dr. Adler sees a good number of them as his population is a little older and what surprises him is that they often make no connection between diabetes and any other eye problem except for retinopathy. This week Dr. Paul Chous continues to provide us with Homerun Slides on the Diseases of Eye.

Our Disaster Averted focuses on making sure all the settings on a pump are set correctly, not just the basal and bolus rates, and our Clinical Case Study points out how patients take better care of their family members than themselves.
