Editor’s Note DCMS #74: New Homerun Slides

We all know that diabetes has reached an epic level in this country and the prospects for improvement in the near future are not that great. Since patients are getting the disease sooner it is likely that they will also need increased care as the future approaches. This usually means intensifying therapy leading to potential increases in hypoglycemia which in turn leads our patients to the yo-yo of high and low blood glucoses. Our new Homerun Slides series gives you the presentation slides necessary to educate your colleagues and your staff on this growing problem facing diabetes clinicians.

Our Clinical Text focuses on the issues associated with older patients with disabilities, and in our Disaster Averted, a diabetes educator asks a young patient on how she acquired an older meter, and gets a surprising answer.
