Editor’s Note, DCMS #237

Apr 20, 2015

Over the past few weeks Dr. Stanley Schwartz has been looking at the causes and reasons that insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia go crazy when a patient develops diabetes. This week, in the last part of the series, he brings to light the use of a couple of older medications and how well they can work for a specific group of your patients. Probably one of the biggest reasons to review his slides is so you can do everything in your power to keep your patients from getting diabetic infections, but if they do get an infection you will want to check out this week’s Clinical Text to learn more about how to treat the wounds.

Our Disaster Averted looks at what happens when formulary parameters clash with insulin education, and Dr. Houmard helps us to find the exercises that our patients will really do.
